STAMP FACTS
This is the first stamp issued by Great Britain on a foreign citizen (non-British).
Biman Mullick, an Indian Artist, designed this philatelic salute to Gandhi. Mr.Mullick had the oppurtunity to interact with the Mahatma on several occasions in the 1940s.
This stamp, incidentally, was adjudged the best at the International Gandhi Stamp Exhibition in Calcutta in 1972.
